This course is a practical approach to the import and export business. It will be extremely useful for those interested in starting their own international business or working for international organizations/companies, and students interested in working with organizations involved in international trade.
The International Trade Certificate will be divided into four parts. Each section will take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM during two consecutive weeks for a total of 16 hours of training.

Ruperto Chavarri
Ruperto Chavarri will be the presenter of the certificate program. He has an ABD in Economics from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. He has a Diploma in Managing Studies by the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird Management Center). He is a Certified Global Business Professional by NASBITE International.
Chavarri was an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Management and Marketing of the Â鶹ÊÓƵappÏÂÔØ (UNO) where he teaches International Management and Marketing. He has also taught International Business in the Executive MBA program.
Previously he was a Senior Consultant for the Louisiana Small Business Development Center, and prior to that, he was the Director of the Louisiana International Trade Center of the Â鶹ÊÓƵappÏÂÔØ, providing training and consulting to Louisiana companies. He was Vice President of NOLA Steel, an import company of steel products, and also, he worked as Trade Analyst at the Embassy of Spain, Trade Commission Office in New Orleans and Dallas. In Spain, he was an Economist with the Electric Power Entrepreneurial Federation and a Business Professor at Madrid Universidad Complutense.
He has traveled to many countries and speaks several languages. He has written several publications and translated books and documents from English to Spanish. He is a past member of the International Business Committee of the New Orleans World Trade Center, the North American Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE), the Louisiana Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the French-American Chamber of Commerce, the Japan-
Louisiana Association, Louisiana-Mexico Trade Association, Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association, the Council for International Visitors and the Spanish Society.
