Gregory N. Price, Ph.D. is Professor of Economics at the Â鶹ÊÓƵappÏÂÔØ. His previous appointments include Interim Dean, School of Business, Langston University, Charles E. Merrill Professor and Chair, Department of Economics, Morehouse College. Director of the Mississippi Urban Research Center, Professor of Economics at Jackson State University, and Economics Program Director at the National Science Foundation. He also served as President of the National Economic Association in 2008. An applied econometrician and theorist, his current research interests include economic anthropometry, the economics of Historically Black Colleges/Universities, the effects of race on economic stratification, and the causes/consequences of slavery. Currently the co-editor of the Review of Black Political Economy his research has been published in journals such as Review of Black Political Economy, African Development Review, American Economic Review, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, and Review of Economics and Statistics. His most recent publication “Climate Change and Cross-National Islamist Terrorism in Nigeria, in Peace Economics, Peace Science, and Public Policy (2017), provides evidence that climate change is a potential driver of Islamist terrorism in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Price is also engaging in research that considers whether entrepreneurship and self-employment are viable post-release pathways for ex-offenders A native of New Haven, Connecticut, Dr. Price earned his B.A. in economics from Morehouse College and completed his economics doctorate at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
