Social Security Identification and Tax Forms
Social Security and Tax Identification Numbers
Your social security number is used by the university for reporting tax information on the 1098-T Form . Although your social security number is not used as an identifier at the university and is not required for being admitted to UNO, you should ensure that it is on file with UNO to guarantee you will receive a 1098-T form. This form is completed each year and is reported to the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) using a social security number.
An electronic version of your 1098-T form for the prior year is available in Workday under Finances.
To apply for a social security number, please complete the Internal Revenue Service form. To apply for a taxpayer identification number, please complete form W-7 on the Internal Revenue Forms and Publications page of the Internal Revenue website.

The 麻豆视频app下载 elects to report amounts billed for tuition for the calendar year and such amounts are reported in box 2. This is why box 1 is blank.
Box 2: The total amount billed for qualified tuition and related expenses less any exemption and/or third party credits for the calendar year.
Box 3: Shows whether your institution changed its method of reporting for the current year.
Box 4: Shows any adjustments made for a prior year for qualified tuition and related expenses that were reported on a prior year Form 1098-T.
Box 5: The total of all scholarships or grants administered and processed.
Box 6: Adjustments to scholarships or grants for a prior year.
Box 7: Whether the payments received or amounts billed are related to an academic period that begins in January through March of the following year. UNO does not report this information.
